Dr. Alex MacNeil is a licensed clinical psychologist in Arlington, Massachusetts. He has spent over ten years helping youth, adults and families in a variety of settings, working with diverse populations.

 

Throughout his journey as a psychologist, he has found a deep, profound need for education, discussion, and explanation of the mental health resources that are here for you. Mental Health Explained aims to address that need.

ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

Dr. Alex MacNeil, LLC is a private practice based out of Arlington, MA that aims to help individuals and families foster healthy behaviors and relationships. Dr. MacNeil works with youth ages 7-18 as well as adults. He engages in both individual and family therapy, depending on the client’s needs. Dr. MacNeil focuses on helping clients facing stress and anxiety, mild depression and life-adjustment issues. His treatment aims to help clients foster positive behaviors relationships within families, schools, and workplaces. He conducts therapy either in-person or via telehealth. For consultations he is able to meet in-person, teleconference, or speak over the phone. Consultation rates are determined on a case-by-case basis.

We'll begin by collecting your history, current issues, and goals to create a treatment plan. We'll discuss your background, mental health, relationships, and practical matters like fees and confidentiality to ensure a good fit.

Sessions

Time for thorough exploration of issues, strategic planning, and fostering a strong therapist-client relationship. This session is often beneficial for addressing complex mental health needs.

30-45 min. Sessions

Ideal for concise, targeted tasks. Tackles emotional, behavioral, or psychological concerns emphasizing the enhancement of mental well-being, strengthening coping strategies, and positive transformation.
